If you're planning a wedding and thinking, "Do we really have to do it the traditional way?" then Rob and Cam’s day at Villiers Barn is proof that the answer is a very solid no. This one was relaxed, fun, creative and full of genuine moments. From getting ready together to spraying champagne like F1 winners, everything about it felt personal and completely their own.

Already Married but This Was the Real One
Rob and Cam had technically already tied the knot in a low key way, but this was the celebration that they'd been waiting for. The one with all their people, back home in Essex, on a sunny May Friday at one of the best barn venues in the county. It had that magical mix of chilled energy and wild party spirit that just worked from start to finish.
Getting Ready Together, Because Why Not
They got ready together in the morning, no rules or traditions, just hanging out and getting hyped for the day. The vibe was easy and unfiltered which set the tone straight away. There’s something really intimate about being side by side before it all kicks off. It felt genuine and it photographed beautifully.
The Ceremony That Had Everyone Laughing
Cam’s aunt officiated the ceremony and honestly stole the show. It was funny, heartfelt and completely personal. Right after they said their vows, the entire guest list took a shot of Tequila Rose together. Yes, really... Nan's and everything! It was chaotic, emotional and the perfect way to kick off the celebration.
Champagne Tower and Champagne Spray
Later on, they brought out a champagne tower for the classic pour and then things escalated. Rob and Cam shook up the bottle and sprayed it across the courtyard while everyone screamed. It was peak party energy and gave us some of the best candid shots of the whole day.

Golden Hour and Sunset Moments
We snuck out for portraits during sunset and the light was ridiculous. Essex gave us a glowing golden hour that felt like it had been made for these two. They were totally in the moment, laughing and messing around while we captured it all without forcing a thing.
Guest Energy Was Off the Charts
This wasn’t just a polite wedding crowd. Their guest list was full of long-time mates who came ready to dance, drink and make memories. The speeches were hilarious, including a full roast of one of the groomsmen and his Grindr escapades. The dance floor popped off all night, with people fully committing from the first song.
How We Met
Plot twist: we met Rob and Cam at a bottomless brunch. No wedding fair, no emails. Just a casual chat over prosecco at Slug and Lettuce. They booked us the next day. That was three years ago and when it came to the big day, nothing had changed. They still wanted chill vibes and relaxed, real coverage that felt like them.
Why Villiers Barn Works So Well
If you’re planning a wedding at Villiers Barn and want it to feel relaxed, stylish and full of personality, it’s one of our favourite Essex venues to shoot at. It’s got great natural light, loads of space for outdoor drinks and golden hour magic, and it handles a full-on party like a dream.
