The vibes were all sorts of perfect for Laura and Lee’s wedding at Houchins, on Thursday, April 17th, 2025. With a relaxed, sunny outdoor ceremony followed by a fun-filled reception, this day was as heartwarming as it was beautiful.
Chilled Vibes and Fun Surprises
From the start, we knew we were in for something special. Laura and Lee kept things laid-back yet full of personality. They had a quirky twist to their ceremony. The rings were hidden under a guest's chair, and the lucky guest had to find them and hand them over to the couple! It was such a fun, personal touch that set the tone for the entire day.
After the ceremony, the reception had a fantastic buzz. As the sun shone down, we made the most of the outdoor spaces at Houchins, capturing the happy couple with their son, who was full of energy and excitement, especially during the first look and after the couple shots. The natural light was perfect for these moments: soft, warm, and dreamy.
Music, Cigars, and Pizza
The party didn’t stop there. At the reception, we had the pleasure of capturing some sweet, candid moments, including a saxophonist serenading the guests as they sipped cocktails and enjoyed the atmosphere. Later on, Laura and Lee enjoyed cigars and pizza, a totally relaxed and cool way to end their celebration.
One of my favourite moments? Watching the guests take a few shots together, with plenty of laughs and dancing. This was definitely a wedding where the energy was contagious. The dance floor lit up, and everyone got involved, including the bride and groom, who couldn’t help but join in the fun.
A Relaxed Day, Full of Love and Laughter
The weather was perfect for an outdoor wedding, and although clouds rolled in a few times to add some interest to the sky, it only made for even better photos. Laura and Lee were such a joy to work with. They were welcoming, relaxed, and up for anything.
And to top it off, as I arrived, the bride handed me a survival gift with snacks, water, and a thank you card. Honestly, what a thoughtful touch.
We loved capturing every moment of their day, from the relaxed ceremony to the wild, fun cocktail hour. It’s days like this that make us truly grateful for what we do.
If you’re planning a wedding at Houchins, you can expect stunning backdrops, a great atmosphere, and memories to last a lifetime.
